Position Description

Here’s a great opportunity to join New England’s leading dairy company with a 94-year history of being the best in the business. Oakhurst Dairy is hiring full-time Class C driver positions in conjunction with a CDL training program available for an individual eager to work toward obtaining a Class B Commercial Driver License. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record and preferably customer service or delivery experience.

Delivery shifts begin between early AM Monday through Saturday, and the candidate can expect physical work/activity and must have a willingness to take initiative. Our drivers are our sales people and interact with our customers on a daily basis to ensure order accuracy and customer satisfaction. Candidates must have good interpersonal skills, and be able to provide outstanding service to our customers. For individuals that have always wanted to work towards obtaining their CDL- B license this is a great fit. Best of all, you’ll be home every evening and able to enjoy family time and activities.

As an Oakhurst route sales driver, you will be training to join a team of some of the best route sales people in the state. Job Requirements

  • Prior driver/delivery experience is considered a plus, but not a requirement
  • To obtain a CDL B permit and log road hours while training as a delivery driver
  • Positive driving record
  • Ability to start early AM and adapt to customer needs and required schedules
  • Maintain a current DOT medical card after achieving a valid CDL license
  • Develop proficiency with a handheld computer device
  • Consistently perform throrough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Operate in accordance with DOT Regulations
  • Physical Demands
  • Safe loading and unloading of product using truck lifts, dollies and two-wheeled hand trucks
  • Ability to lift 55 pounds
  • Tolerate cold/damp environment 35 – 40 F (Rear of truck and customer’s coolers)
  • Work and operate a vehicle in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors frequently throughout a shift: Standing walking, climbing up and down, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling and pushing.
