Strong Support for Our Next Generation
Oakhurst has a tradition of recognizing the hard work and accomplishments of the kids in our communities. Here are some of ways we put that core belief into action:
EMCC Donald H. Bennett Memorial Scholarships - We are proud to provide two scholarships to students in the Culinary Arts program at Eastern Maine Community College. Students are selected on the basis of their scholastic achievement and overall contribution to the program.
SMCC Donald H. Bennett Memorial Scholarship - We are proud to provide a scholarship to a student in the Culinary Arts program at Southern Maine Community College. The student is selected on the basis of their scholastic achievement and overall contribution to the program.
Athlete of the Week - Since 2004 we have been sponsoring Current Publishing's High School Senior Athlete of the Week program. The program recognizes high school seniors in southern
4-H Dairy Awards - We have supported 4-H dairy programs for many years in a variety of ways. In 2005 we developed an annual award program to recognize the 4-H dairy show winners in the Showmanship Category at local agriculture fairs. The winner of each class is awarded a recognition banner and a $100 check.
