Meet the Bennett Family
Meet the third generation of Bennetts, who stand behind each and every Oakhurst product 100% — just as their grandfather Stanley T. Bennett and their father Donald H. Bennett did when they ran the business.

Stanley T. Bennett II
Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer
A 3rd generation dairyman, Stan joined the family business in 1973 after earning his college degree from Tufts University and a Law degree from Boston University. In addition to overseeing all aspects of the Dairy's management, Stan is our ambassador to the community. He has shared his leadership talents with non-profit organizations such as the Gulf of Maine Aquarium, Greater Portland Boys & Girls Club, The Iris Network, the Maine Historical Society, the Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce, the Friends of Casco Bay and the Planning Board of the Town of Falmouth. His involvement in industry associations includes the Boards of the New England Milk Dealers Association, the International Dairy Foods Association and the Maine Dairy and Nutrition Council. Stan was born and raised in Portland and makes his home in Falmouth. He has three children - Theodore, Colby and Sarah Jane.

William P. Bennett
Executive Vice President of Manufacturing, Chief Operating Officer
Bill is another member of the Bennett family who has helped make our family business the successful organization it is today. Bill scrutinizes every aspect of our day-to-day operations and develops strategies for continuous improvement of quality and efficiency. Whether it's better or more efficient ways to make our products, innovative methods for getting them to market faster, or new ideas for making Oakhurst a safer and better place to work, Bill is the man who makes sure that we are always moving forward. A job he has excelled at for over 30 years.
Bill lives on Little Sebago Lake in Windham with his wife Susan. They have two grown children, Aaron and Leah. He is the former Chairperson and present board member of the Portland Salvation Army Advisory Board. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Maine, Orono.

Althea Bennett McGirr
Director of Customer Relations
A Portland native and member of the third generation of family management, Althea has been at Oakhurst Dairy for over 25 years. She is a graduate Of Westbrook College and the University of Southern Maine. As Director of Customer Relations, she answers consumers' questions about Oakhurst products, operations and community initiatives. She also manages the internal customer service and ordering department and interfaces with sales and marketing.
In addition, she works in conjunction with the family regarding the many philanthropic activities of Oakhurst and the Bennett Family as well as her own participation as a Director on the Board of the Iris Network. Althea and her husband Bob, reside in Falmouth. She has two grown daughters, Lucia and Katherine Allen and grandson, Peter.

John H. Bennett
Vice President of Logistics
John is the fourth member of the Bennett family to join the dairy's operation full-time. He is the previous owner of Port Quality Shellfish, a wholesale seafood distributor in Portland, and has a long and successful record in perishable product sales and distribution. After selling the business, to Preble Seafood of Kennebunk in 1998, he served them in both purchasing and sales capacities until 2003. John is also a member of the Dairy's board of directors. Since joining the company, John has served as Oakhurst's General Sales Manager, Director of Marketing and more recently, V.P. of Sales.
A graduate of Tufts University with a degree in Economics, John lives in Portland with his wife, Abby Snyder, his son Donald, and his daughter Caroline. He and his family enjoy hiking and swimming, and exploring Casco Bay.

Jean Bennett Driscoll
Sales & Marketing Assistant
Oakhurst welcomed Jean in 2008 as the 5th Bennett sibling to join the staff of our dairy. She comes to us with many years of medical managerial experience and has spent the last several years serving on our Oakhurst Marketing Advisory Committee, Charitable Giving Committee and our Board of Directors. Jean now works with our Sales and Marketing team managing their day to day operations.
Jean is a graduate of Westbrook College and lives in Falmouth. She and her husband John enjoy their home, gardening, writing and travel.

Priscilla Bennett Doucette
Chairperson, Oakhurst Charitable Giving Committee
A member of the Dairy's Board of Directors since 1983, Priscilla is also on the Marketing Advisory Committee, and chairperson of the Charitable Giving Committee. A life-long resident of Portland, graduate of Deering High School and the University of Maine of Southern Maine with a Masters in Education, she taught English at Portland High School for 29 years.
Now retired, she is a Trustee of the Maine Historical Society and a board member of Oceanside Conservation Trust of Casco Bay. She and her husband Dale enjoy their grandchildren, working in their gardens, walking, reading, birding and the beaches of Vieques, Puerto Rico.

Mary Ellen Bennett Tetreau
Oakhurst Consumer Advisory Committee, Chairperson
Mary Ellen is a member of the Dairy's Marketing Advisory Committee, Charitable Giving Committee, and Board of Directors. She was employed as the Director of Purchasing for the Maine Turnpike Authority and recently retired after 29 years of service.
She is an active member of the Leadership Council for Opportunity Farm in New Gloucester.
Mary Ellen graduated from Springfield College and lives in North Yarmouth with her husband, Tom and their three children, Thomas, Eleanor and Charles. She and her family enjoy hiking and kayaking and bird watching at their summer home in Milbridge, ME.
