Oakhurst Dairy Joins Maine 4-H October 'Clover' Campaign
ORONO -- Oakhurst Dairy, a longtime supporter of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension's Maine 4-H program is adding a link to its website through which people can contribute online to the October Clover Promotion fundraiser scheduled Oct. 1-31. A majority of the funds will specifically benefit Cumberland County 4-H programs, while 100 percent of the money collected will go to 4-H in Maine.
The Clover Promotion campaign is a 4-H Month fundraising project conducted in partnership with Paris Farmers Union and more than 50 businesses statewide.
"We are delighted to support this fundraising initiative for Maine’s youth and help lead the organization’s initial move to online donations," Oakhurst CEO Bill Bennett says.
"Oakhurst Dairy leading the online 'Clover Promotion' is a tremendous leap for Maine 4-H," says Audrey Chapman, director of Maine 4-H Foundation." 4-H has aspirations for kids that align with Oakhurst’s aspirations as a business and we hope that Maine businesses see this as an opportunity to identify themselves as leaders in local communities by joining the Clover Promotion."
Annually 25,000 youth participate in Maine 4-H, which is a youth development program of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
